Untitled WIP by Michael LeKites

Some of my first paintings when I started painting again after the Army were waterfalls. Did quite a few of them. Thought it was time to do a few more. This is still very much a work in progress. I'm considering applying oil once the acrylic is finished.
As for now.. acrylic on canvas, 12x16.

*Thought I'd update this post. I've decided to go ahead and finish the painting in oil.. using the acrylic as an under painting. I've added oil all around.. mostly in foreground. I am about 50% finished. Have to add trees in background, begin work on the rock in center and continue work all around on water.

Beautiful rendering of water over and around the rocks.

Beautiful - I can hear the splashing of the water. Love the lights and darks. Had a chance to see some of your other pieces in person at the gallery and they are just beautiful!

Michael, you did a great job with the falling water. A really tough subject to capture, but yours is graceful and reflective.

Thank you Kathy and Dianne! The oil is a bit out of my comfort zone but I think it will pay off in the end.
