Trash Day, 10 x 8" oil en plein air Jill Peckelun

www.jillpeckelun.com

I was so happily surprised when this piece won second prize at the recent Camp Hill plein air event.  Who know that a trash bin  to the rear of a restaurant could be so beautiful?  I had a lot of fun painting it, but I kept thinking off and on while I was working: why am I painting a trash bin?

For its simple shapes, colors and contrasts and the time-honored artist's interest and challenge of turning something mundane into art very nice, Jill.

Congratulations Jill! I saw you receive your award at the Collector's Party but did not get a chance to meet you. I loved all of your work and was so happy to see it in person.
