Black-eyed Susan by Kim Smith

I had lots of fun painting this one. Painting small pieces of art really takes all the pressure out of painting. They are quick, easy and there's nothing to lose. Not like spending weeks on a larger painting and needing to stay faithful that it will turn out in the end. I know I like immediate gratification, and fun little paintings are a wonderful way of gaining this, and helps get me through the larger paintings that I really need to keep doing, too...

Kim - contrast created by colors/values are ... vivacious!! Love the texture, too.

Kim, love the bold palette knife petals. I see you are in Lancaster, we should get together and paint en plein air. I also hold a open studio with a live model most weds. evenings in Lancaster City if you are interested.
