WILD POKE BERRIES, 16x12, oil by Sharon Benner

I painted this from a late day photo session with a lot of weeds and wild flowers at Codorus State Park.  I love the way this yellow plant with it's purple berries glowed and stood out amongst the other native plants.  I now have a FASO website, www.sharonbenner.com.

Sharon, this is quite lovely. You have taken an ordinary subject and elevated it to great beauty with this wonderful painting.

I love wild weeds! This color contrast is beautiful. Congratulations on your new website. It looks great, I saved it on my favorites list.

I'm told it's an edible plant when very tiny; poisonous when grown to the size you've painted. It's a lovely subject and even lovelier color palette.
