Still Life Painting by Rebecca Jennings

"Family Feud"
8 x 10 Oil on canvas

I was intrigued by the textures, colors, and seemingly personalities of  these little gourds I came across at a farm market a year ago and just had to paint them! It seems like the *mother* is trying to sooth the spat that has arisen between her children. Can't you just hear her saying "Now, children..... "

This was my set-up for this painting, which I actually did last year, but felt it worth posting as the Autumn harvest is upon us.

Love these bumpy, colorful gourds - and you have painted them in all their glory!

Funny how it really does feel like a mom and kids. Such personality in these gourds.
