MECHANICSBURG WATER WORKS By Cecelia Lyden

oil/linen
16x20

This is the second time I painted and sold this scene. I was commissioned by a man, who saw the original painting on my website and whose wife's uncle and father had built this structure many years ago. It is to be a Christmas present for her. I am so pleased to be part of this thoughtful gift.

The first painting was en plein aire. I tried to paint outdoors again, but the trees still had their leaves and my view was obstructed. Luckily I had photos of the original setting and was able to complete the painting.

Isn't it always nice when someone wants to give one of your paintings as a gift? Not only do they admire your beautiful work, but they like it so much that they want to give it to someone they care about. The ultimate complement!
