There have been so many great postings lately and I regret not commenting on them! The autumn season is crazy busy. Most of you can probably relate.
The small study for this painting was done on Wednesday morning and the big canvas was done yesterday morning. I started it at sunrise and finished around 11am. I really liked the shadowed mud in the foreground. The lake was being drained and this caused a pattern of watery ruts. I love to get set up while it is still dark and wait for the sun to creep up into the scene.

Your dedication really resulted in a terrific painting, Ron. A great day's work!
This is amazing Ron! Beautiful paintings - both of them. Impressive size...your tailgate makes a nice easel.
Thanks for sharing this Fine ART Work! It's great to see all the work that goes into each Piece.
Dedication and devotion paid off for two beautiful paintings to be done. That larger one has so much interest in it, fantastic. Great job Ron
Fantastic paintings, Ron. I do like the comparison of the study and the larger painting - and the way the smaller sizes right up to the larger piece!
Nice showing the 2 paintings together. I love the POV of the painting with the foreground being spare in colors leading back to the colorful background.
