Beethoven or Bust

the donkey is back
supporting the cast
and Beethoven’s not
the star though he’s got
that look on his face
that says ‘sour grapes’
the horn in the glass
above that old ass
prefers to bow low
to the violin and bow
and yes, I’ll just sip
the last little bit
of wine while I’m here
“salute” to some cheer!
