I started working on this 11 x 11" painting in pastels before I had my oil version of it... more then year ago.
After I got involved with my oil painting I couldn't get back to this one for a while...
However few days ago I decided to pull it out and just finish it, simple because it would be a shame to leave it unfinished and one day put to the trash (this is how all my unfinished works are ended up sooner or later).
As You can see for this painting I used the same very grid method, what many of our
watercolor artists are using. I learned it from Larry Lombardo and totally love it compare to traditional square style of grid. This painting/drawing is done on PastelMat, wonderful new support for pastels what recently became available in United States. I like it a lot for this highly detailed style of painting.
I'm using mostly Girault and Holbein pastels and various colored pencils as well as some charcoal.
So far it is progressing ti my like and I hope it will stay this way, but we will see...
I'm going to post another photo of this painting when I'll be done with it.

...To be continued....

Thank You, Sue! I also want to see it finished, but it will take some time. Complicated painting.
