It was a glorious day for painting sunflowers outdoors at a local farm. I was happy to be outside in the sun and sweet-smelling fresh air but, the sunflowers looked pathetic, with drooping heads and withering petals, as if they knew the end of summer was near. However, there still was enough color to paint and the heart-shaped leaves made a lively design.

Very Nice Cecelia. They do look sad to see summer go, but you've captured them perfectly.
I love sunflowers and the birds love the seeds so they will have plenty to eat from these. Great painting.
