Old Country Club by Dianne Lorden

I'm re-posting this because I got back to it today and finished it up. I'd thought I was done with the watercolor part, but I found three new Derwent Inktense pencils in my regular colored pencil stash, and I was SO excited, I used them in the painting. (One was a green, one was a yellow and one was a blue. Lucky! I would have used them no matter what they were!) Then, I continued and added value (hmmm ... I guess this is a "value added" piece) with colored pencil, which did give it a bit more definition.
Briefly, as I explained in the last post - and I do appreciate that some of you found this particularly interesting - this scene is on the grounds of the old Gettysburg Country Club, which has been made part of the G'burg National Military Park. It's very atmospheric there, with the amazing landscaping of the golf course having been taken over by nature. It has an air of mystery about it. And, again, the bodies of water there will be removed by the park service at some point - so the Canada Geese and Great Blue Herons will have to find another watering hole. Ah well!
