Roses and Rollercoasters by Julie Riker

11x14 oil

Last week I spent a day painting at the Hershey Gardens which is right up the hill from Hersheypark - beautiful place, but far from tranquil with the background noise of ratcheting roller coasters followed by screams -- sort of an interesting contrast.

Julie, as I said over on Facebook:
(Hope you don't mind a repeat) I love this! It IS a really interesting contrast. The flowers move beautifully back in space, and the distance is painted so poetically.

This painting is a "Real People Pleaser". It really speaks to me on so many levels. Your ablility to make emotional connections with viewers of your paintings has made a huge step forward. I'm impressed and enjoy seeing your talents evolve.
