"Down to the river..." Pastel study by Tatiana Myers.

14 x 11". Pastelmat.

About two years ago we went to do extensive photo-shoot on Susquehanna.
Most of it was done on McKees Half Falls, but this time it was no so much about landscape, I wanted to collect some god references for future figure studies... something what I didn't do for ages and never really mastered to my like. Perhaps now is a time. The other day I took some of those older photos out, made my pick for the first study and went ahead with pastels. Had wonderful time playing with those and here is result.

Thank You, Linda and Michael!
Michael, I may work on finished/polished version some time later... Now too busy, this very my model is getting married in a week. And soon after I have two trips out of State. Can not work on anything what will take long time to finish at this moment. But I think if I will take my time this one may turn out very beautiful.

And as for photos, I lot of people do not realize a lot of the great painters worked from photos. Picasso, Degas, Cezanne, Gauguin, Lautrec just to name a few. Maxfield Parrish did as well. Photography was a little more snobbish back then. Kodak changed that.

Thank You, Michael. I enjoy photography almost us much as painting and with my life style it is just about the only way, how I can paint... But I can paint and I'm thankful for that. This is only important part.
