CHICKITUDE
An Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Chickitude'
Oil
8 x 10

Here's another chicken painting I have done from photos
I took last Fall when we were plein air painting on the Blue
Hound Farm.  I loved the colors in this hen the moment
I spotted her.  She liked to peck at the dirt about three feet
in front of my easel, so I was able to get some pretty
nice pictures of her without scaring her away!

She's struttin' her stuff and your brushwork has a lot of movement too. Way to go, chickie!

She's a beauty, all right. Chickens are wonderfully artsy looking creatures. I agree on the brushwork - it's bouncy, and the colors, too!

One of my favorite subjects since I am a born farm girl. I love the mood and atmosphere in this painting and of course the "chickitude".
