River Kiss, 20 x 24, oil on linen by Ron Donoughe

Earlier this week I spent some time painting the Muskingham River in Ohio. It was interesting because an artist friend has a cottage that is right on the river's edge. That allowed for constant observation of how the sky changes affect the river color. This painting was about how the last golden rays kissed the water goodnight.

Just gorgeous, Ron. I love those clouds in the sky.

This is beautiful Ron! Painting sunsets from life are a real challenge as they change so quickly.

Thanks Julie. Going someplace new can be invigorating to the senses. Since I was with 4 other artists there was a lot of friendly competition and encouragement. Which is always good!

This is a beautiful painting, Ron. There are so many wonderful and subtle shifts of color in that sky that are a pleasure to the eye.
