EWE AND LAMB
Original Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Ewe and Lamb'
oil on linen panel
9 x 12

This summer I was fortunate to be able to paint several
times at the Dickinson College Farm.  While I was there, I
took the opportunity to take many reference shots of
the farm, and also of their lovely sheep.  The lambs
were adorable, and full of shenanigans.  This little one was just
content to walk to the water trough with his mother.

What an amazing use of color in the big mama sheep. It's beautiful Claire!

I absolutely love the way you made the wool on that ewe, Claire. (As a fiber artist, too, I just want to grab her!) It's a precious painting.

I love this painting too! The color and texture in the wool. The warm and cool interaction between the path and shadows. I love the subtle brush work and color in the background.
