DOWN THE GARDEN PATH
Two Mile House
Original Plein Air Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Down the Garden Path'
(Two Mile House)
Oil on Linen Panel
10 x 8

Today I went back to Two Mile House (an historical site
owned by the Cumberland County Historical Society) to
finish a painting I started last week.  We're in the middle
of a 'heat dome', so I left earlier than usual so that I could
finish up before the real heat started - it was already
95 degrees when I left the site around 11:00.  Five of us
ladies from SVPAP painted there this morning - and my
hats off to everyone and their positive attitudes!  We are
so fortunate that the property has lovely shade trees.
Here are some pictures:

Lyn O'Neal was painting off to my left

Johanna, Sue, Clare, and Cecelia found a nice
shady spot to paint from.  Clare painted
beneath the grape arbor.

If you would like to see more of my work,
please visit my website or my blog. If you are
interested in purchasing any of my paintings you see
here on this blog, please contact me.

Boy are you "Johnny on the spot"!Painting and photos all posted within hours of our paintout. The painting is warm and wonderful, especially the brick walk.

I saw this one last week when you were doing it; this turned out beautiful!

I love seeing photos from paint outs and exhibits, workshops etc. This is what makes our group Real and not an online gallery. Happy posting and commenting everyone!

Great color Claire, as always! Makes me want to get out and do some more plein air -- I've had too many studio and indoor-type commitments recently and I remember what fun we had at the Festival Paint-Out. (But maybe I'd prefer to wait until these 100+ temps depart!) At any rate -- I'll see what we might set up for August.

I really like the perspective you chose, as well as the colors, Claire.
