Lahotan Cutthroat Trout (Oncorhynchus clarki henshawi)
Transparent Watercolor on Crescent Mat Board
Matted on Identical Museum Quality Mat Board.
Image Size: 9" x 4.5". Matted Size: 14" x 11".
A Continuation of my series of Watercolor Studies of
North American Trout Species. I find the color variations
on the Cutthroat species especially interesting.
This species markings are vary different for the ones living in a lake environment,
compared to the wild stream version. The lake version is
Mashed Potatoes to the Stream Version of Broccoli, Carrots and Beets.
So stream version it is!

Georgeous markings and colors. What a world we live in...billions of fascinating colors, textures and designs for us to use as inspiration! Happy New Year Thom!
I never realized the difference between lake and stream trout were so different. Very nice painting Thom. Thanks for the education!
Gorgeous colors, Thom. I ordered calendars of your fish from your zazzle site for my husband and son in law for Christmas, and they were a HUGE hit!
