Wildwood Lake

I recently painted at Wildwood Lake where the lotus flowers are currently all in bloom and the sunlight glows through the lily pads. This 11x14 oil was started en plein air and later I refined it a bit in my studio.
I have enjoyed reading and being inspired by all the artist's posts on this site and I am happy to now be adding my work to the group. You all do wonderful work.

This is a wonderful, sunlit painting. I especially like the light glowing through the lotus leaves.

Welcome to DPP Julie; I like the angle you have chosen to capture the sunlight coming through the leaves. Your reflection of light on the water is great.

Hi Julie--So nice to have you on this blog--I love the composition of this painting, the contrast between the loosely painted background area and the more controlled foreground--beautifully drawn and painted lily pads and reflections.

Welcome to DPP, Julie. This is a beautiful painting. I'll have to get over to Wildwood if the Lotus are in bloom. Hoefully, you will get a chance to paint with us, also, on Wednesdays. Let us know if you are interested.
