"Wharf" by Dianne Lorden

Here's a detail from an illustration called "Wharf," which was voted the most popular piece at my recent Gunnar Galleries show. It's pen & ink and colored pencil, 16" x 20".

I'm happy to have made two sales at the show (this piece wasn't one of them).

Dianne, your paintings always make me feel that there is a narrative that goes with the art. My eye wanders through the work, and with each imaginative passage, stories start to form. This is wonderful. Congratulations on your sales!

I love this piece. Such a sense of history here. I keep thinking of England when I see this beauty.

As Claire noted - your narrative content enlivens your fresh line and soft color. There is a lively variety of pattern and motif that moves my eye throughout the image. Congrats on your double rainbow - sales and a public accolade. I will check out your web site to see the entire composition.
