"In the Memory of Owls" by Dianne Lorden

This 18" x 24" oil painting is based on an actual window with a Gaelic inscription that translates to "In the Memory of Owls." I found the notion so enchanting, I added an owl (among some other changes) to come up with this tribute. It's on display now at the Gunner Gallery show.

What a gorgeous perch for an owl! Beautiful colors and lovely composition.

Your paintings are always so wonderfully imaginative, Dianne. Think of all the stories that could be written after looking at this piece, and how interesting they would be to read!

I also thought this was really interesting... looking for the story and feeling like the owl is really watching the viewer... Nice job.
