Veggie Tails Watercolor Still Life with Vegetables by Pennsylvania Painter Bertie Brown

Veggie Tails

original watercolor still life with vegetables: 8"w x 9"h

A Vegetable Tail

Is the tip of a root

That thrived as it grew

Hidden from view

Though some roots are inedible

Others taste incredible...

From the stem to the tail

A few never fail

To brighten my plate

With flavor so great!

(I’m excluding kale

But that’s another tale)

Vibrant and alive--beautiful use of negative space--the negative area, with its own "tails", is as interesting as the positive area and interlocks with the positive veggie tails.

Bertie - this is so delightful that it makes me want to go whip up a salad! The colors are fresh, and the design is intriguing - all making for another terrific B.B. painting!
