Untitled by Michael LeKites
I consider this more a study and is still a work in progress, although I am nearly finished. I am now at the stage where I will set it aside for a few weeks until I figure out what it needs before I consider it done.
The background will be cleaned up a bit more and a few things will be refined. Some of the branches need moved around. Not quite happy with what is going on there but, as I said, this is more of a study with colors. I also enjoy ever so slightly "magical" landscapes. I am attempting to work loosely with the background. The rock is real, but the colors are imaginative. Place is somewhere deep in the Allegheny Mountains. I say somewhere because I know I will never find that spot again.
Acrylic 18x24.

At least you have this "spot" preserved in a lovely painting.
I love mossy rocks- and you have captured the essence of their beauty so well in this painting!
This is wonderful, Mike.
My husband and I saw your History Meets the Arts exhibit at the Brafferton Inn and really enjoyed it. I liked being able to view in person some of what I've seen you post. Thanks!
Like all that green moss and rocks. Something I would enjoy to paint myself. Well done!
It is an interesting start. So far so good.
