I recently returned from a visit with my daughter and her family. They live in Annapolis on The Bay right where the South River empties into the Chesapeake. I set up my painting gear on the deck in the early morning. The sky was soft with beautiful pastel coloring. There was a slight breeze and the water was a little choppy. In my view was a 2 mast yacht, which my son-in-law claims just appeared one morning and has been sitting there for a year. He said no one has boarded it or even approached it. It was still there when I left.

I am curious as to what is on that boat! Seems like someone should board it to make sure that everything is ok. Ghost ship. But what a beautiful painting!!
I agree with Autumn Leaves - a beautiful mystery! Boats, ships, etc., are among my favorite subjects. What a wonderuful job.
The composition is so pleasing with the tree pointing me to the boat and masts holding me there.
Lovely painting and post Cecelia. Very romantic. Hope to see you on Friday at "13".
Cecelia, this is a wonderful plein air painting. I can feel the breeze blowing off the bay!
