First 2010 Plein Air Painting, at the Round Barn on June 18 with the Plein Air Painters' Group, Gettysburg Festival
It's been so long since I've posted. Since I have a gallery in Gettysburg, and summer is our busiest time, and the Gettysburg Festival is in full swing, things have just been a little busy. But I see Claire Carnell posted pictures of me painting at the Round Barn this past Friday, so I thought I'd take a minute to prove that I actually created something. Something looks odd to me about this photo, now that I see it online; I need to go back and look at the painting to see if it really is lacking so much texture in the lower left corner. If it is, I'll be sure and add some. Otherwise, I'm fairly pleased with it. I tend to like to depict little "cropped" views of things, so the composition suits me. I guess it goes without saying, but this is the cupola from the Round Barn.

Amy, I think this is lovely! That round barn was gorgeous!
I love the perspective and the cropped view--I also appreciate the excellent drawing of the negative shapes in between the louvered windows.
A great view of the Historic Round Barn. Looking forward to seeing it at the reception and exhibit in Gettysburg on Sunday the 27th from 1 - 3pm.
