MILKWEED

Day 24

Such a humble flower, yet it feeds the butterflies
with the nectar from these beautiful blooms, and then
in the fall develops unique pods that dry and
eventually split open so that the beautiful gossamer
seed wings inside can fly out into the world.

Claire--Why am I getting exhausted with all the painting YOU are doing? Quite a challenge --one hundred paintings in one hundred days! I just returned to your first one, Poof--a stunner, as is this one.

These are beautiful, Claire! Milkweed pods would make for a great painting in the fall...I'll be looking for that!

Great use of color in your background to contrast the lights and darks Claire.

Thanks everyone - your encouraging comments are really helping me to keep on going!
Cecelia - I have my 25th painting ready to photograph, and then I can post it. It was so exciting to think that I have twenty-five paintings done...then it hit me that I have seventy-five more to go...but I am in it until the one-hundredth painting is signed and posted!
