Latest Encaustic Workshop

My latest encaustic workshop was held this past Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Harrisburg (sponsored by the Art Association of Harrisburg) and 7 great artists attended. I thought it was going to be very cold since we had to have the windows and doors open for ventilation, but it turned out to be very nice instead. I have included several photos of the artists creating new works (I might add that most were new to encaustic). With that said, all you need is instruction and you're ready to create!

Here's Roberta and Shirley creating texture on their pieces.

Gloria using a hot writing tool.

My youngest student ever - Lilia - who is 12 years old. She's using the torch to fuse like an old pro. I might add this was her first try at encaustic.

Lynn, Lilia's Mother, adding a new color to her piece.

Karen making a new patch of paint.

And, lastly, Irene - fusing with a small iron.
I have two more workshps scheduled for this spring (in Maryland and Pennsylvania). You can check my website for more info on those (http://www.lindabentonmccloskey.com/). Fall workshops will be posted later. Thanks for viewing!

This process looks so complicated..everyone seems very intent on creating their work...will you be posting some finished pieces?

I have to try this sometime. I love the finished product achieved with the encaustic process. Thanks for sharing these great photos.
