As an art teacher, one of my lessons concerned artists' inspiration and motivation, leading to some of the elemnts of art. We were looking at still lifes and I asked the children, "Why would an artist want to paint a bunch of apples?" I thought the first obvious answer would be --the colors.
But instead the first reply was, "They taste good." Never thought about taste as being a motivation--what a wonderful reply from that child.
I love the shapes and colors of pears, and I sure do love their taste.

The tones and muted colors are beautiful.
What a wonderful story! I often say I love to paint good food! The painting glows with deliciousness!
Kids are great, aren't they? They certainly cause us to look at things in ways we hadn't considered. Beautiful painting, Cecelia. I love the light and shadows, and the color is gorgeous!
Well, these sure make my mouth water! What beautiful warm colors!
