"Poppy Field" by Tatiana Myers

"Poppy Field" by Tatiana Myers
11 x 14". Pastel on Ampersand Museum Pastelboard.

Rain after rain after another day of nasty rain and wind. I simply wanted to paint something bright this time and not overly complicated. So here it is.

So beautiful, Tatiana!! This painting reminds me of the beautiful fields of...tulips, I think they are...out in Washington state...with the gorgeous backdrop of the mountains.

Tatiana, this beautiful painting sure lifted my spirits on this gloomy day! You've done a fantastic job on the color recession, creating a wonderful sense of distance. I love it!

Really lovely; how long would you say this took you?

Beautiful and inspiring Tatiana.

Thank You, Autumn!

This is a wild poppy preserve somewhere in Arizona... I think. I found it on wet canvas in free image library and had to paint it.

Thank You, Claire!

This is somewhat less realistic, that I usually do, but... I still like it, it was fun. I combined wet/dry technique in this painting and it worked out very nicely.

Thank You, Dianne!..
How long ?... I think it was about 3 painting sessions of about 1 1/2 each, or something like that. This is really hard to say, since right now I'm busy with different paperwork. I work late at night only and off and on from my easel in between of doing something else...

Thank You, Mary Beth!

You more likely will see it in Gallerie 13 sometime... The only down part - I just discovered that I totally do not like the frames I have in stock for this painting. I think I have to do with golden Plein Air instead... Look like I need to get some frames... again.

Beautiful painting, Tatiana. Love the red...makes me feel warm and sunny. I feel sometimes artists should buy stock in the frame companies.

Thank You, Pat!

You are so right about this frames... and for pastels it is even more complicated with framing that if you have to frame oil or acrylics...
But looks like I have something what just mat do the job this time... I just forgot I had it. Ooops! Lucky me!

I know what you mean about these rainy, gray days. Red is certainly the color to use to bring one back to sunny days and warmth. Great poppies!
