Abstracted Wetlands is a mixed media acrylic painting done on paper. I then glued the piece to a board and framed it in a white frame...no glass or plexiglass needed. This allows the viewer to truly appreciate the texture that is in this piece. This is a landscape-oriented abstract painting with blue water, orange catty-o-nine tails, and blue/green rolling hills in the background. Being a plein air painter & often painting at wetlands greatly influenced the creation of this piece. I am always surprised when an abstract painting appeals to me. I am at most an impressionist- mostly very realistic. But when I love an abstract painting, it is because it really grabs me.
Ooooh, I see spring poppies in there, Pat!
I remeber this one, Pat! Did you have it posted on your blog, or at Gallerie 13?.. Like usually - love your colors.
I remember this one from your CALC show. I really like this one very much.
Oh, I am such a fan. I love that this is a larger painting, too. Truly wonderful work, Pat.
This has a good feeling to it. I like the pops of oranges.
