I got tired of shoveling snow and decided to come inside and post something to the blog -- life has gotten in the way recently and I've not had a chance to post for over two weeks! Hope all of you DPP members are holding up well after the storm.
This little piece measures 2 1/2" x 6". It's a cropped view of some musicians who participated in Gettysburg's 2009 Memorial Day parade, taken from a photo I took out the window of my gallery on Baltimore St. An acquaintance has told me that these are members of the US Army Old Guard Fife and Drum. Being completely honest, I do not know the names of the individuals involved and therefore do not believe I can sell this piece, since I haven't had anyone sign a model release form. It was primarily an exercise for myself, experimenting with the concept of working in miniature and using tightly-cropped views of things, and I really liked the striking contrasts of the red coats with the white trousers.

Absolutely fabulous!
This should be labeled 'a little gem' of a painting!
A wonderful painting! Truly gorgeous.
A bit of perfection, if you ask me!
This painting is so well done for being so small. The colors and the shading. It's beautiful.
I always love your work Amy.
I like the way you cropped this painting. So strong for a small size.
Thanks to all who commented for your kind words!
