Winter Glow
by Claire Beadon Carnell
'Winter Glow'
Oil 6 x 8
I was going to take a break today to get some
housework done...well, it just didn't happen. I
sat down at my easel and started this painting,
working from photographs I took after the first
big snow we had this past December. The late
afternoon light on that day had produced
the most gorgeous colors.
Once I got started, I could not stop...I did not
even break for lunch. Love being in this mode - I
feel so creative and the energy is really flowing.

You painted the Farm I grew up in! This looks just like it! Besides the personal feeling I get from this painting, I love the perspective and the sky.
I know where this barn and field are; I have a similar photo of it taken two years ago right after a snow storm. You've done a great job this one.
Housework? Ugh...People have been trying to get rid of the dust for centuries and it never goes away. Save it for posterity; let's paint now instead!
Claire, you've really managed to capture the feeling of winter's stillness and tranquility. Great job!
Claire, I really like that warm light on that barn. I can almost feel the cold of that field. Great painting.
