Tranquility by Linda Young

Tranquility

Watercolor on Illustration Board
Using a painting by Nita Engle as my guide and experimenting with illustration board for the first time, I found illustration board very challenging and difficult. However, the freedom with the paint and water painting itself (almost), I'll be doing more of these. It was fun...in the end.
This painting will be on exhibit at Carlisle Arts Learning Center in May when several of my paintings will be shown in the Gallery as one of the featured artists.

What a beautiful and mysterious creek! I love how you've handled the dark areas here.

Tell me where this is, I want to cast a fly for a trout! Beautiful! I have always admired Nita Engle - like you, and you have captured her essence with the looseness and impressionism only found with watercolors. My brushes have a hard time loosening up, so I really appreciate paintings that are this beautiful.

Thank you so much; I'm glad to be a part of this blog, too.
According to Nita's title of her original painting it is on the Yellow Dog River.
I used to live in Wyoming and Colorado, and this reminded me of the places I used to fly fish. I can almost anticipate a trout ready to strike.
