Memories of Maine Series
Daybreak
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Daybreak'
Oil 8 x 16
Started this one last night, and then finished it up
today. This is the view from the cabin again, but
of the right side of Miller's island as the sun was
beginning to break.
I have to say that I am having more fun with each
painting I do from this series...I think it's because
of all of the wonderful memories it is bringing
forth!

I love lineal landscapes, and I love landscapes of Maine, and I love this oil painting. It creates a mood and has the surreal feeling I always get when I see a flat plained landscape. It brings a stark beauty to the canvas.

Lovely glow of the morning and layering in the sky.

Your emotions are painted in every stroke of your brush. Maine is a beautiful place as is this painting.

What a beautifully painted sky, Claire. Your painting is so unified and sets quite a mood.

Very nice painting. My brother-in-law Mark Workman vacations in Maine and also paints scenes from there.

The entire painting is so well done. Unified was a great word to use Pat. I would love to see the painting in person.

Sunrises here on the ocean are beautiful too. I snap photos of them, but have not tried to paint them outside--too cold and the sky changes so rapidly--when it warms up, I'll try to paint the sunrise on the spot--love your painting--it has inspired me.
