My favorite of yours so far. As a Fly Fisherman, I can only drool as I look at your painting, then look outside! Love the color that Pastels give you. Especially the moss.

I can hear the stream in this one and can almost see the water boil with the fish waiting for the lure! Nice

Thank You, Thom! I drool myself, I also love to fish! :-) When I painted this creek, I just got some good custom ordered greens and decided to give it a try.
Thank You, Linda! This is once again my favorite painting spot on a Cove Creek. Only different season. Much speed and power in this water. Took me a while to finish it.

Beautiful and deep greens and the moss covered rocks are perfect. I can see the direction in which the water flows...Just a perfect painting, Tatiana!

Thank You, Pat! Welcome to make me a company some day... Right now I'm trying to find a good day and go back there for photoshoot with a snow and good light... no luck so far. But I will try... still have plenty of winter.

Tatiana - Like Thom, this is also my favorite of yours posted so far. My sister lives near the mountains in east Tennessee, and this makes me nostalgic for the hikes we have taken there. Beautiful job!

Thank you, Amy!

I think I have to share a little secret. This was one of my very first works in pastel, I spent a lot of time on it and... started it all wrong by traditional views...

Basically I put all highlights one the water first and then went with all darker values... Not what you usually do with pastels, but it was making whole sense to me at the moment, because of my past experience with watercolors... Your whites stay whites and you just play with everything else around.

Several good pastel artists told me "Oh, no, it is not going to work!" and I wasn't even sure if I can finish it... But another lady I know told everybody leave me along "It might just work for her!" was her exact words. It gave enough assurance that I can finish this painting... And so I did.

BTW, if you want to go for hike, we can take you at our mountains. Beautiful! You may just love it.
