3" x 5"
While on my daily walk this summer, I noticed that many of the homes were displaying US flags. The combination of my patriotic feelings, the warm, familiar and comforting architecture plus the contrasting light and shadows on those buildings and the yards enticed me to carry a camera the next day. I photographed and then painted 5 of those houses. Three are mini paintings and 2 are framed 8"x 10s", which are currently at the CALC Gallery in Carlisle.
Gallery 13 has a miniature painting art exhibit every year. I have participated for the last 2 years. I enjoy working on small canvases with small brushes. You need to work really close to the painting. You can flip the canvas around with ease and best of all, I was able to complete 8 of my many "possible" paintings in a short amount of time.
The website below has the work of many amazing miniature artists.

wow, so tiny and with so much info. Looks like it was fun to paint.
It was great fun--thank you!
Maria--so sorry--the size of those mini paintings is 3x5. Good grief, I don't know what I was thinking when I labelled them as 2x3. With my eyesight, I would not even be able to see the canvases, let alone paint on them. It still was fun, though.
I so wish I could see inside both of these gorgeous homes! Much as I love the bungalow style of the second painting, the first draws me even more because of all the trees and green that surround the place. It just looks so quaint and cozy, doesn't it? Beautiful paintings, Cecelia!
These houses sit on the same street in Camp Hill. The whole block is "quaint and cozy". Thank you for your observations.
