Jersey Blueberries by Linda Young

NJ Blueberries
4-1/2" x 5"
Watercolor
This study was painted on location by a town called "Cape May Courthouse". I was walking my dogs and saw them growing by the road. It is one of the first paintings I did in a loose style which I'm becoming more fond of when painting flowers and landscape.

Beautiful Painting! I have a load of reference photos from all over Cape May County NJ. My husbands grew up outside of Ocean City.

Thanks Mary Beth, my blog tells a little more about this painting and what happened as I was doing it.

Great painting, Linda. I do like the loose style. They look good enough to eat.

Beautiful, Linda! I love this style, especially when done well. I've seen it done in all manner of paintings and am often quite blown away by the effect. Beautiful blueberries indeed!

And the color choice and loose style is so fresh! Lovely.
