"Hay Rolls" by Tatiana Myers

"Hay Rolls" by Tatiana Myers

8 x 10" Ampersand pastel board.

Soft pastel.  Framed.  ©2009.

This is my latest painting, what I did to take a brake from my Koi Pond, what takes a lot of my time. "Hay Rolls" was started and finished at one evening. Reference photo taken this summer at one of our local farms, close to the place where we board our horses.

Great movement in the grass Tatiana.

I can feel the breeze in my face...this has such a great atmospheric quality to it, Tatiana.
I was hoping to meet you at the reception at Gallerie 13 this past Friday, but the place was packed and we couldn't stay too long!

Tatiana, I feel like I'm on top of a hill with the wind blowing...the grasses are moving and the clouds are floating by quickly. What a beautiful day and painting.

I like the repeat of the hay bale shapes in the clouds. I, too, love the movement in this work as well. Nice job!

Thank You, ladies! I may slightly correct few details on this one... I got some good suggestions from Wet Canvas and want to check it out, but generally I'm pretty happy with this painting. I wanted to do Hay rolls whole summer, didn't get a time... Now here it is! I have a feeling it is a first one, but not last one. Claire, you are impossible to catch! But I think some day it will work out for us. Lyn, I painted this one with Art and Soul in mind! :-)

Tatiana, this piece has a real "Van Gogh-ish" appeal to it. Great flow!

Thank You, Amy! You are one more person to mention HIS name. :-) Yes, I think something is present here... don't know where from, but some similarity in the strokes. BTW, I just was looking Chambersburg mini art show catalog and found you here too! I have two of my pastels there... What a small world!
